The New Canon 3D? Does B&H Reveal new Canon 46MP camera?

It was publishes first at Nine Volt Photo, and probably this is why their website was collapsed. They calim that they  found a page at retail powerhouse B&H Photo.

They share with us the above page, that list with specifications including a 46.1-megapixel CMOS image sensor, dual Digic 5+ processors, a 3.2-inch LCD, and dual CompactFlash memory-card slots. All but the first of those specs are already on the current top-end EOS-1D X. So is it only about the megapixel? and, that the people at Canon were paniced by the Nikon D800?

What a camera!?  - Canon fans be ready – but this it real?

 

 

 

No one can tell if this is real since it, the link, was disapeared a day after was found by nine-volt.

Since photokina is alredy past, we have to wait to Photo Plus Expo and see, if this another canon rumors or the next thing that all canon fans was waiting for, since the Canon 1Ds mark III

People photography – How to photgraph in religious ceremony

Israel is an heaven for us the photographers. After every assignment in israel I find my self asking – How, in such a small area, there are so many ceremonies from all types? from all the religious? from different cultures?

Israel is the center for the major religious and major sub stream of these religious. So, for example, in Israel there are more than 3 new years holidays and shooting opportunity accordingly. Every holiday has its own customs, rituals, marches, food types, colors and more.

Photographing ceremony is like any assignment, photojournalist or wedding photography. ceremony photography comprise several opportunities or others will call it several chapters. As a photographer that plan the shooting you have to learn these chapters.

Alongside the variety of religious, there are subgroups and traditional movement and lots of beliefs and mites. It has been developed along the years around holy places, holy people’ graves, historical monument etc.

The main 3 part of ceremony or rituals are: preparation, climax and anticlimax . When you plan your shooting you have to decide what is the story you want to tell. It will impact where you will position yourself. It will impact the color or hue will you choose to use, Monochromatic or colorful? Emotions – which one will you focus on? ecstatic or meditating?

There is so many opportunities so you just have to plan ahead and choose the best fit your taste. You have to be respectful to the participations. Please do understand that not all of them are willing to be photographed. For them it is their life and not a show like to most of the spectators. But, since you have to bring your own photos to your photo editor in the magazine, or to upload to your blog, it is better to make a quick introduction of your self to the people who are responsible for the ceremony. Ask them where to stand , match some expectations with them, and assure then that your photograph won’t offend them at all.

Photography tips: How to photograph in Holly places

Photography in Holly places challenge the photographer in many ways. Although for documentary photographers is very exciting to photograph in such events, still need a good preparation in order to achieve goo results.

 

 

The light

Usually most of the holly places are dark places with low light or combination of candles low light with some top windows lights. Top windows light is usually also an photography opportunity. Like in the following Image that was capture in middle of day but in order to cool it I changed the WB, which I will be elaborate in another post.

In cases of low light you trade with the wider aperture in your lens and hence, depth of field.

One important issue is that you must focus on the eye of the main person in the picture. Usually when photo buyer will search your portfolio, he will search for sharpness. Most of them don’t like shallow depth of field.

The second challenge is that photographing people in their holly moments, is not so simple. They are in their moments, they are concentrated, they are praying and put their soul into the moment. They don’t like to be watched, captured, bothered. They want to feel alone with God. this is the reason why they came to that place in first place.

In Several places you can approach people and they will cooperate with you. In some cases you can create the opportunity for it.

There simple tips to approach people when you want to photograph.

1. Identify a leading person in the place. I t can be a priest in the church or the the rabbai in the synagogue. When you speak with them the people from the congregation that you also part of them. So they might cooperate with you.

2. Start to shoot article and not people. Let people get to use to your presence in the place. Walk around shoot walls, statues, and other elements. Practice your photography in these difficult light and check results. Meanwhile, people get used to you. They won’t feel that they are the subject and start to snick a picture here and there and test the reaction.

3. Participate in the ceremony. Be part of the ceremony. Understand the process. When you are part of the community, the other members will let you intrude in because now you are part of them and not an intruder.

Tomorrow is the Jewish New Year. It is a common custom in most of the religious that New Year is good date for new start. So for me Greatphotoshop is this new beginning! In the last year I was busy developing this site from scratch. The last two-month were hectic due to several pre-launch that didn’t succeed. Today I have decided that no matter what is working or not I’m launching it for the New Year and let it be new start and god one for all. Where it all begun?

My name is Haim Srur and I’m like many of you a photographer. Not a professional one, but still a serious one. Like all of those addicted to photography with all this heavy body and lenses, that read all the photo blogs, joined photography workshops, and, (hopefully) get improved from day to day.
